POINT: Mitt Romney says he won't apologize for working hard making a lot of money. He suggests that his accumulation of wealth through Bain Capital is the "American way." On Tuesday, Governor Romney released the tax information that the nation and Newt Gingrich have been salivating to see. On about 42 million dollars of income in 2010, Mitt and his wife paid a 13.9% effective tax rate.

COUNTERPOINT: Now the wonderful "Genie" of modern, Government "favored" Capitalism (as opposed to true free-market capitalism) is at last "out of the bottle" and on the front page. The little, not really secret "secret" is this: For almost ALL millionaires and billionaires, their MONEY is made from MONEY and is TAXED at 15% (or lower in Romney's case) while money made "the old fashion way" from LABOR is taxed at a maximum 35%. For families making less than $100,000 non-investment income, the tax rate is 26.5%. AND REPUBLICANS THINK THE 15% CAPITAL GAINS RATE IS TOO HIGH! So tell me again why the rich CAN'T be asked to pay MORE?

ADDENDUM: The Republican Party has completely reversed the philosophy of its first president. Lincoln believed that "labor is prior to and superior to capital." Today's Republican Party believes the EXACT opposite.
